Tenant

briefly my husband was made redundant, hes 63, we can no longer afford mortgage so are selling and want to rent, however our credit rating is not good but we will have plenty of money once the house is sold so would be able to pay rent in advance if needed, do you think this would be accepted. Another problem is that once we sell our home we will need to move into rented home straight away but would not have the rent until sale is complete, can anyone advise us please

Agent

Hi Sue- it is rare for a credit score in itself to affect a tenancy. However, any adverse credit (CCJs, bankruptcy etc) could cause serious issues.

Also, without a proven cource of income, the agents will either require rent upfront or will require you to provide a Guarantor to your tenancy.

Good Luck!
