Asking for a friend. a lady in her 70s has lived in a property since 1996 and the landlord never raised the rent,This week the landlord has given her one months notice to move to another of his properties 2 doors away because he wants to improve the property and raise the rent considerably, she doesn’t want to move as it has been her home over 20 years but i don’t see how she has a leg to stand on as he has offered another property, anybody know if she has any rights here? I have had dealings with this landlord myself when he charged £325 from my deposit toward a carpet that was then replaced with laminate flooring
