the boiler stopped working this morning. We have no hot water or heat plus 3 children, one of which is 12 weeks old. we reported it at 11.30am. the landlord said they cant fix it until tomorrow as they only use 1 man who they cant get a hold of. is this acceptable especially with such a small baby?

Hi Lorna

You normally have to give a landlord a ‘reasonable’ amount of time to fix boilers. That normally translates as 2-3 days unfortunately. Unless it was below freezing outside then there might be a case for a faster response. Some landlords are even worse and can take weeks or months to fix boilers so 24 hours is not too bad.
