I own a maisonette that is in a block of four. The term left on the lease is running out and is down to around 35 years. A) how do I go about finding out if the lease is just off two of the flats or all four. B) How do I go about buying the freehold and roughly how much would it be? C) Roughly would it be to extend the lease for 120 years?

I purchased the property in 2002 for 68,000. The current value is 120,000 and I pay £7.50 ground rent.

Thanks in advance for your help with this matter.

Aren’t there any lease papers to give you further information ? For buying the freehold, you should contact the freehold owner and ask for information.

I think the HM Land Registry can help you out work out who the owner of the land is. You can find it a link for it in our tenant resources –
