It has recently come to our knowledge that the property manager of a letting agency from which we are renting a managed apartment has a criminal conviction for the offence against the property (he basically stole several thousands pounds from his previous employer). As he does all the maintenance jobs and inspection visits we are extremely worried about the safety and security of our rented accommodation and our personal belongings. Is the agent/landlord in breach of trust and the contract for not revealing this conviction when we went into contractual obligation? Can we start a legal case against the agent for this reason? Please advise.
