I need some advice. We recently remortgaged and bought a flat for our daughter. It is 2 bedroomed. She is a University student. She wants to rent the other room out for £375 PCM . My daughter will not be eligible to pay council tax but will the lodger need to? Also will it make a difference who the monthly rental is paid to i.e. Direct to my daughter or to ourselves. Will this also have tax implication.
any advice would be welcome.
