Yes you do have rights, if a 6 month tenancy has been signed then you have a legal tenure of the property now, he can sell the property but with a tenant in situ, or he can wait till the 4th month and serve the section 21b notice for possession, providing it was signed with your agreement at start of tenancy.. But if agreement is signed then you are entitled to move in!! Or he could come to a private arrangement and buy you out, I would want personally my expenses and costs paid, and a goodwill gesture of 3 months of rent
