Been living here since September and accidentally dropped my phone behind my bed and when I moved it I saw this

Something has transferred to the bed a friend says its moisture by the looks of it but he has only seen the photos too, I’m hoping and praying this isn’t mould as I moved out of the last place as the bedroom had mould coming through the wall due to water getting trapped behind an exterior sign and ruined the mattress.

Ignore the square patch at the top that is where a sticker was removed from the mattress.

Hi Vanman

There’s some information here on mould, the different types, who is responsible and what you can do about it. If it’s something you’re doing in the property then it’s a good idea to try and change your behaviours (i.e. start opening windows after a shower etc). If it’s structural then normally it’s up to the landlord – more info here on how to get something done.

Hi AP

Thanks for the info, as for the links they are just links to pics of the wall pre cleaning and the mattress as it has some discolouration which I don’t know what the hell it is, hoping its not mould as I’ve only had it about 6 months.

Just to add, in regards to showering etc, the bathroom doesn’t have a window but does have a small (pretty useless) fan and I always have windows open on the latch when drying clothes in my bedroom, not fully open as it is the emergency exit window and a sudden gust of wind pulls the window wide open and my curtains end up flapping about outside.
