my landlord has finally agreed to carry out some of the repairs, but is now stating that he will be at my home on the first and last day.  I have no objection to this in principle, but based on past experience, I am concerned that he will expect to come and go as he pleases or stay for hours.  Am i correct in writing to him and stating that he can access my home on the first and last day for a fixed period of time and that these are the only times he can access, unless there is an emergency?  I have already written to him once about unecessary visits and harassment.

If you’re feeling uneasy about your landlord, ask a friend to accompany you during his visits.

It’s possible that the repairs would require flexible visits to the property, which cannot really be expressed in advance. Restraining their access to the property while repairs are being done is likely going to cause them to extend the repairs schedule which will make you experience this longer than you have to.

Otherwise, you’re in full rights to moderate your landlord’s access especially if they are prone to harassing you in any way.
