Hi im in a 6 bed share house and we have all been goven notice to vacate the property as the land lord dont own property ukar having taken property,and have been given 2 months notice,is our contract void as it ses 3 months notice,and should our depost be given straight back to he dont and has never owned this house

Hi Mark

Who owns the house and who has given you notice? If your tenancy is with someone who isn’t the legal owner then I’m not sure what rights you have to residence at the property. It would be worth you speaking to Shelter about it. It could be that you’re a subtenant in which case your rights will depend on how much the person who does own the property knew about you being there.
