the electricity in my whole flat went out on friday night for 54 hrs. Can any one let me know what is a landlords obligation towards this emergency. He did send an electrician who couldnt fix it concluding it was a maintanance issue. The landlord closed the issue saying he couldnt do anything until monday moing. Was he suppose to do more to resolve the problem?

Hi Singh

We’ve posted some help and advice that might give you an idea of the landlord’s obligations in terms of electricity maintenance and supply.  There are also some links at the end of the piece that might also be helpful: http://www.thetenantsvoice.co.uk/advice_from_us/the-role-of-the-landlord/.

Hope this helps – what a horrible situation to have been in.
