Hello. I wonder if you can help me. I am currently a private tenant and my flat is managed by a letting agency. Since April 2013 the boiler which is ancient has not worked. We have an immersion heater and have got by with electric heaters. The flat suffers from condensation and damp, particularly around the patio doors (which are in my bedroom) and the front door. The owner now wants to sell to another investor and so nothing is being done. The mold was treated two months ago but has now returned. Have you got a contract,do you know your rights as a tenant? you can always get hold of Shelter, they are very good, they will let you know where you stand.Also you can get in touch with the landlords association,thats if your landlord belongs to one , I have had this problem with my landlord, I cant ring him the answer phone is on all the time.if I write to him he does not bother to respond,so I sent him a email yesterday,just waiting to see if he replies. any way all the best.
