We’re sorry to hear your news.

Firstly, your landlord must give you two months’ notice to find a property. Secondly, you only have to receive 24 hours notice for a viewing to take place, but you can negotiate the time if that suggested is unsuitable for you. You also need to give approval for the visit to take place so that you can ensure the property is presentable.

Moving is very costly and it is very hard for a lot of people to save for a deposit, something you probably didn’t think you would need to do when you are so settled in the property. If you are at risk of homelessness, then please contact Shelter for their expert advice as soon as possible. 0808 800 4444

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Hi it’s me again just to say I’m worried landlord has came to us today and gave us a letter ..saying from today we have 3 months notice to leave the house. .He didn’t put the deposit in a bond …in fact he couldn’t remember if he had a deposit from us luckily we could prove it …He then said just pay for the next two months and keep the last one …how wrong I don’t know what to do .(
