Hi,

I am renting a property. I’ve had a letter from a new letting agent stating they have bought out my existing letting agent and I should now pay them on there bank account rather than the current previous agents. I’m not comfortable with this. they’re just an independent third party as far as i’m concerned. what should i ask from them to PROVE I should now pay them and should I also get a proper legal update to my rental agreement. All I have is a letter which i can summarise as “pay us and don’t worry everything is going to carry on as before”.

any advise would be greatly appreciated !

You should. Contact your current letting agent and check, if their story is confirmed, you can ask them for the correct bank account and see if they match.

Ask as many questions as you need to before you feel safe.
