Hi members,

This month my tenancy agreement is going to be end. The Land Lord is psycho and crazy person. He held my deposit with DPS, through the letting agency. I believe that he will not get my complete deposit back. I will return the key. But he can damage the property after getting the key and he can put on my shoulders that damage afterward.

What should I do before giving the key back???

Guide me please.

Hi! do you have a check in inventory? if you do, make sure that everything matches u to the condition of that for check out, obviously dont worry loads about general wear and tear though!

Take photos and videos of EVERYTHING that would be included on the inventory with the days newspaper in the photos to show the correct date. best to do that on the day you give the keys back.

If there’s no check in inventory, you don’t really need to panic too much as long as it’s left in a nice state.

The onus is on the landlord to prove you caused any damage and that would mean comparing the state of the place between check in and check out.

Hope that helps 🙂
