Hi

My friend was given a section 8 notice 2 weeks ago today by her landlord ( she has not told me the reason why ). Her tenancy expires on Monday. What will happen if she has not left the property by that day?? Can her landlord enter the property whenever they like or will there have to be a court case etc.

Kind regards

Mark

Can her landlord enter the property whenever they like or will there have to be a court case etc ?

Absolutely not. The landlord can never enter the property without the tenant’s permission, even if the tenant is not legally occupying the property.

There has to be a court case and the bailiffs are the only ones who can go in and remove the tenant and their possessions.
