Hi new to this forum and wonder if someone can help. We have have just moved into a property and agreed with the landlord that she could store her furniture for a couple of weeks. We now desperately need the garage because our car insurer requires the car is put into the garage so our theft cover can be reinstated.   She says she cannot move it out yet and it could be weeks! Any suggestions? We are paying rent for the house and the garage. Thanks

Hi Dee

What does the tenancy agreement say about the garage? If you’re paying for it as part of the property then she’s in breach of the tenancy if it’s not usable. Perhaps you could suggest that she put her things into storage – like any normal person – until she’s ready to move them?

Alex
