On Wednesay morning I reported to my housing association that we (myself my wife and three young children) have no hot water or heating. They said this would be treated as an emergency and someone would be out within 24 hours. 5 days later someone came out and said a new pump was needed for the boiler. It is now 7 days and we finally have had some electric heaters given to us. The housing association have said that the pump has been ordered and should be here tomorrow but later on changed their mind and said the part hasn’t been ordered yet. There is no date given for when the boiler will be repaired so are stuck in a cold house with no hot water. Is there anything I can do as seem to be getting nowhere and just keep being told to use the kettle for hot water. Not great advice as my kettle only boils one cup at a time. How can a family of five wash using only a kettle. Wouldn’t mind a couple of days but 7 days and the possibility of being left like this indefinitely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated…

How can a family of five wash using only a kettle ? – It can’t.

We recently published a step by step guide on how to resolve problems with the heating and hot water at your rented property. It takes you on a procedure that ends with you contacting the environmental health department and asking them to resolve a health hazard in your rented property.
