I found out on Sunday that i have to leave my rented house, through no fault of my own. Not sure what happened but the mortgage co. seemed to have called time on the landlord. He has to sell the house asap or it gets reposessed.Either way its his mistake but my problem.

i’m hopefully correct in assuming that i am entitled to my deposit back, but is the landlord legally liable for any of my costs in having to move?

I’ve lived there 8 years without issue and wasnt planning on moving anytime soon, i have a good relationship with my landlord but this was something i wasnt expecting so wasn’t prepared for mentally or financially.

also do i need it in writing?
