I’m trying to understand if my landlord has the power to dictate the extent to which I clean my floor? Following an inspection my landlord has informed me that she is carrying out another inspection in ten days as the first inspection had ‘found the interior not to be in good, clean order.’ Presumably with the expectation I will clean the floor etc. in the meantime.  Is my landlord within her rights to do this? Any advice appreciated, Thanks.

Well, you are responsible for maintaining good hygiene and tidy the property on a daily basis. If the property is dirty, the landlord is giving you a chance to do good on your responsibilities before the next inspection.

Anyway, the landlord has a right to do scheduled inspection to the property with a minimum of 24h notice. You’ve been given a 10 day notice, so I find this reasonable.
