I am planning to move into a property from my old one next month. Over the past 6 months I’ve had to assist a family member with her finances and have had payday loans over this period. Will this affect my referencing checks?

Many thanks

Hi Dr Cross,

Whilst this may affect your Credit Rating, this is rarely a decision point for agents & referencing agencies. They are usually more interested in proven sources of income & rental references.

If you are really concerned, ask the agent which reference company they use and then contact them directly. If you disclose the rental commitment and your circumstances they shou,ld be able to advise if you should pass or not.

Hope that helps.
