Been renting this property for a couple of years and paid on of those ‘cheap but non-returnable’ deposit schemes which was fine but now my landlady has changed agents and they now want us to pay another security deposit……is this right?!?!

Deposits are paid at the beginning of the tenancy; if you’ve already paid in some way before I don’t see why anyone can ask you to pay again. I’d refuse and see what happens, they make give up once they realise they can’t pull the wool over your eyes. A lot of what agents say you’ve got to do is a con.
