can anyone tell me how much of my personal information my landlord has a right to know?

such as do i have a car, my bank details etc

Check our  guide about credit checks. Typically, only banks can get information on your debts, ongoing loans, mortgages, etc, if your applying for a loan. Landlords may get access to public information such as if you have any CCJs against you, or if you have insolvencies in the past.

Nobody, but your bank and you is allowed to know what’s in your current account.
