Hi, has anyone succesfully issued a claim against former landlord for return of deposit plus penal charges? A friend has just had a court result, was only awarded half of the deposit back and no penal charge, the reason given was, deposit was protected so penal charge not relevant, deposit was protected TWO months after tenancy ended. Thanks

Best advice is to go to a “no win, no fee” solicitor and let them handle it. They are more likely to get the best result for you.
