I’m looking for reviews of “The Tenant Shop” who claim to set up all your bills when moving in and find the best details on utilities. Its apparently a free service. I’m not exactly willing to take them at face value. How are they making money? Answers on the back of a postcard please. Thank you!

Hi Colin

I would imagine they are just drawing in existing data from price comparison sites to provide information on the best energy deals. In terms of where they make their money, most likely from advertising or offering certain ‘gated’ featuers that are only available for the payment of a fee. Or they might be getting a perctentage kick back from energy companies for each new customer or charging joining fees to landlords rather than tenants. I don’t have any inside information on them but I guess they could be worth a try depending on how much personal information you have to hand over before you get the service.
