Tenant

Hello all,

I arranged (verbally) and through the signed tenancy declaration form as well as the original advert agreeing that I would move in on the22nd of this month. However after two weeks since I took that flat on I am now being told that the landlord will have a carpet fitter overlapping on my move in day.

Being Easter etc. I only just got someone to help me move in and do not have the flexibility if he puts me a day back.

What can I do if I miss this window I just could not move in?

Thanks

Hi Sean

Sorry for the late reply- I think I’ve missed the boat here! However, it sounds to me like he’s not stopping you from moving in however there is the inconvenience of having to move round a fitter. Not ideal, but at least he appears to be looking after the property.

I think you will find moving to another place on such short notice difficult so I would just find a way to make it work and hope matters going smoothly thereafter.
