Hi everybody

Our landlord’s letting agency has served me with a 6a asking us to leave by two months time, claiming a  6 month break clause.

The tenancy agreement has a clause as follows:

“In addition or instead of the standard clause listed above, the following MAY be individually negotiated between the landlord and the tenant as part of this tenancy agreement. This is at the Landlord’s discretion”…. and then the 6 month break clause

I said “hold on, this was never negotiate or agreed’   The agent said “just by signing the agreement you agreed to the break clause”

Surely, by signing the agreement, I was just agreeing to the clause that says it may be negotiated (which it hasn’t)
