We’ve just moved out of a property after 3 and a half years. The number decals on the oven had started to wear away. We’ve never used harsh chemicals on them, they’ve just started to rub off over time.

The landlord has just emailed to say that she will be charging us for a whole new replacement panel for the oven purely as the numbers are wearing off. This seems ridiculous to me so I stated that I wouldn’t be paying it.

Am I correct?

It does seem like wear and tear to me. A whole panel is a complete overkill. The landlord is being unreasonable.
