If you feel you have cleaned the property to a high standard but your landlord is demanding money for a cleaning bill, then hopefully you will have taken the necessary steps such as amending and signing an accurate inventory and taking photographs with dates in order to prove your case. If so, then you are in an excellent position to reason with your landlord and settle the dispute.

However, provided that you have done the right thing when moving out but have not taken these necessary precautionary measures to prove your case, then perhaps your landlord cannot prove his or her case either.  They will need to provide proof in order to legally deduct money from your deposit, in which case it might be worth your while using a Dispute Resolution Service.
