Q: I’m worried my landlord will think I am being neurotic or a nuisance if I complain about something when there hasn’t been an accident yet. Should I complain?

If you believe your health is at risk due to anything in your home, always tell your landlord. TTV can reassure you that it is not ‘complaining’ so long as you inform your landlord politely. Don’t compromise, especially if children or elderly people are likely to be in your home. If you are not sure about whether you are worrying about nothing, you can still discuss the matter with your landlord; you might feel reassured without any work being done. However, do not be fobbed off, especially with vague promises about problems being fixed; you should always ask for a time estimate.
