If the water heating is inefficient then it is probably costing you extra money in fuel bills. Check the water gauge on the boiler to ensure it is set at your required temperature. If it still won’t heat properly, write a formal request for repairs to your landlord. This may be a letter or an email; be sure to include the date sent and keep a copy for your own records. If you do not get a response or it is taking a while for the landlord to investigate the matter, you will need to be persistent and follow it up with another letter. See our article on what to do if your landlord refuses to do necessary repairs if you need to escalate the situation further.
