Council’s use a Band system. There are usually 4 bands, A-D (though some councils may have one or two more), so for instance the bands might be as follows:

  • A – is for those who have urgent needs
  • B – is for those who have high priority
  • C – is for those who have a definite housing need
  • D – is for everyone who doesn’t have a particular need

Naturally, those who have been placed in Bands A and B will get priority selection.
