We had the misfortune of being tenants under a lease managed by Winchester White. While they present a slick image as letting agents, they are utterly terrible as property managers.
We endured a terrible 12 months, in a house which looked great during a rushed viewing but required urgent improvements (broken appliances, faulty electricity wiring, leaking taps, and rats). They clearly do not care whether anything happens within a reasonable time. They are comfortable making false claims. They are incredibly discourteous. They threaten to claim breaches of the lease if you attempt to exercise any basic rights. For example, we had a leaking tap. We had to wait 4 weeks for a plumber to attend to a leaking tap. But he was not authorised by them to repair it. So we had to wait another 2 weeks for him to be authorised to come back and replace it. Meanwhile I was told that any damaged caused by the leaking tap was my responsibility and risk and I should ensure any water was immediately mopped up!
We wondered if our experience was isolated, but several tradesmen who attended the property told us Winchester White tenants all had similar stories.
We moved out directly due to their conduct. Never ever again would we rent a property involving this agency.
